Growing up in Chicago, I did not get to see many mountains. Here, I can see mountains everywhere, even driving on the expressway. This morning I read the first part of the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5. I'm rereading the Gospels right now because I needed to get back to Jesus, not the Jesus of the church or the Jesus who was "a really good person" according to the rest of the world. Just Jesus. The Sermon on the Mount is where Jesus really lays out what his idea of the kindgom is. It's way different than what most people, including churchgoers think. It's challenging, unexpected, and refreshing. It's great.
