Summer Snapshots:Garfield Park Conservatory

Ok y'all, I have a confession. I've had my camera for well over a year and I've barely gotten out of auto focus. It's been part laziness, part "I'll do that some other time." Well, the time came on a date to the conservatory. All I can ask myself now is, "Why did I not start working on this before?!" I love the shots I got. Even more, I loved the feeling of actually controlling the camera instead of it controlling me. I can't tell you how many times I used to get frustrated when my camera's autofocus went crazy. This summer, among other things, will be the summer of the manual focus. I think it got off to a decent start. Any suggestions for me on the journey? I'm always up for tips and tricks! On another note, how is it June already? I have no idea where May went. More incentive to seize the day (as if any more incentive were needed.) I hope your June is off to a splendid start. Your June could be even better if you one that darling Indica Jewelry Necklace. Today is the last day to sign up for the giveaway. Good luck!

Taylor

  3. I adore these photos and can totally tell that you're using manual mode - my favorite. I'm still guilty of using auto now and then when I want to get a shot quickly. But manual renders the most gorgeous photos. My favorite is playing with depth of field!

    1. That's what was so "whoa!" about using manual. Now I can try all the tips and tricks that never quite worked with auto focus.
